Walks

All walks start at the East entrance to the wood, on Creighton Avenue, opposite Fortismere School (N10 1NT). Most last about 2 hours. 

Walks are free, though a donation of £3 per person is appreciated. It helps to book in advance as this allows us gauge numbers and to contact you if there are any changes to the programme.

Creepy crawly walk

Coldfall Wood is teeming with creepy crawlies of all sorts. Join Edward Milner (professional bug hunter) to find some of them.

Fungi walk

At last year’s walk we found 20 species of fungi, including a rather interesting Zoned Rosette (Podoscypha multizonata). Join Andy Overall (Fungi recorder for London Natural History Society) to see what we find this year.

Tree walk

Find out about the trees that make up the wood and how we manage them.
Led by Iain Loasby, local woodsman.

Geology walk

Excavations in Coldfall Wood in 1835 found marine fossils, shells and rocks from the north of England. Find out why, and other fascinating information about the geological history of the area.
Led by Diana Clements, local geologist and a recognised expert in London’s geology.
